Nantes is the reason I love elephants and yellow cranes. It is the birthplace of my three children and a city worth discovering. Not far from my last address are the Machines de l'île, whose giant mechanical elephant and magical menagerie transport visitors to a steampunk world inspired by native Jules Verne.

ABOUT ME

It all started with Laura Ashley wallpaper. A lot of my childhood was spent moving from one country to another. Time zones changed, currency changed, accents changed, sometimes languages too. The one constant remained my mother’s favourite wallpaper supplier.

 

I would spend hours in bed finding patterns in the flowers, making connections, spotting differences and counting them until I fell asleep. Today, I hope my creations have a similar mesmerising effect on kids of all ages. Like clouds, feel free to see what you want to see, to search for things that you want to find. The closer you look, the more details pop out. A nod to person or place. A reference to a song. A photo of someone you know.
